Service Academy Nomination
Congressional Nominations to U.S. Service Academies
One of the greatest honors of serving in Congress is the opportunity to nominate outstanding young men and women to the United States Service Academies.
Members of Congress may nominate candidates to four of the five U.S. service academies:
- U.S. Military Academy (USMA), West Point, NY
- U.S. Naval Academy (USNA), Annapolis, MD
- U.S. Air Force Academy (USAFA), Colorado Springs, CO
- U.S. Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA), Kings Point, NY
The U.S. Coast Guard Academy (USCGA) in New London, CT does not require a congressional nomination.
Each member of Congress may nominate individuals for every vacancy in their district's allocated academy slots. Please note that the nomination process through our office is separate from the individual application processes of each academy. Be sure to visit each academy's website for specific deadlines and requirements.
Nomination Process through Congressman Jack's Office
To begin the nomination process with my office, you must submit a complete application packet. Emailed submissions are preferred. If sending a physical packet, please use a manila envelope or file folder, secured with a paper clip or binder clip—do not staple any part of your application, as this will delay processing.

Contact and Communication
For questions or issues downloading forms, please review our FAQ page or contact Jessica Eck at 770-683-2723 or Jessica.Eck@mail.house.gov.
Please note: This process is designed for students. Applicants are expected to complete and manage all aspects of their applications. While we appreciate parents' support and enthusiasm, we prefer to communicate directly with candidates. We understand students have busy schedules and may not be able to call during business hours; we are happy to respond to emails at any time. In urgent situations, we are glad to speak with a parent or guardian.
